How to sell logo files online

A logo sale is a small pack with a large mix-up risk: the client thinks the PNG in the preview is the delivery. Show the mark. Sell the vectors. Keep both on one link so the invoice and the .ai are not two waits.

How to sell logo files online is usually a client job, sometimes a template. Either way the product is a pack, not a JPG in a chat. The stall is sending a preview PNG, then an invoice, then the .ai at midnight. Spike is the extra that puts preview, price, and pack on one URL.

Export the finals out of Illustrator or Figma into a Spike folder. The unpaid view can be the lockup. The paid view is SVG, AI, PNG, maybe a mini brand sheet. Share design files and get paid is the generic design send. This page is the logo-shaped pack.

Show the mark. After payment, SVG, AI, and PNG unlock from the same folder.

What to show unpaid

A clean PNG of the lockup is fine if it is not the only deliverable you promised. If the job is "vectors plus usage," a poster mockup is a better unpaid view than a transparent 2000px PNG they can already use on a site. Watermark the sample if it will live on a public page.

What to put behind pay

  • SVG for the web.
  • AI or PDF with outlines, and a copy with live type only if they own the font.
  • PNG at 1x and a large size.
  • A one-page usage note: clear space, on dark, on light.

From canvas to paid pack

  1. Keep the working file off the client URL

    The designer workspace holds many folders. The client sees one.

  2. Password the share for a named brand

    Logos in progress are not a storefront. Password the link.

  3. Price it when money is due

    Get paid before sending files. If the job is already paid, a free passworded share is enough.

When the logo is a product, not a job

A logo template you sell many times wants a public sample and a price, not a password. Same folder model. Pin the URL. You can still list on a marketplace for search. If the PNG in the preview does the whole job, you have not packed a logo. You have packed a picture of a logo.

After they pay, leave the share on so the printer in another city can still fetch the SVG. Free links last three days; Pro and Business until you turn them off. Replacing a slightly wrong clear-space PNG is an upload to the same folder, not a new transfer at midnight.
