How to sell fonts, mockups, and brand assets as digital download products

Design asset downloads are easy to upload and easy to regret. A font without an EULA, a mockup without a layered file, a brand zip without the SVG: that is not a product. It is a support queue.

To sell fonts and mockups online in 2026 is to sell permission as much as pixels. Graphic designers and independent type makers already know this. The buyer wants the look in a story, then the files that survive a printer. Design asset downloads that skip the license become a week of email.

This is not a templates essay and not a UI-kit aisle. It is fonts, mockups, logos, and the brand resources that sit around a mark. Spike can deliver the pack after payment on the same page as the preview. A foundry site can too. The product work is the same.

Show the type and the scene. Sell the OTF, the PSD, and the SVG. Keep the license in the ZIP.

Fonts are licenses first

When you sell font files, the EULA is the product. Desktop vs web vs app. One seat vs a studio. Variable font vs static cuts. Put that on the page and in the ZIP. A 2026 buyer will install a .woff2 on a Webflow project and assume they paid for it. If they did not, you will hear about it from their lawyer or from yours.

  • OTF or TTF for desktop, woff2 for web if you sell that use.
  • A specimen PDF in the unpaid view. The font files wait.
  • A plain-language seat count. "Up to five computers" beats a novel.

Mockups and brand resources

To sell mockups as part of a brand pack, the flattened scene is advertising and the layered file is the goods. To sell brand assets, include the SVG, a vector original, PNG sizes you promised, and a short usage note. Colour values belong in a text file, not only in a screenshot. If you already have a mockup-only or logo-only pack, keep those as their own products and point here when the SKU is the whole kit.

Package, price, deliver

  1. Build the ZIP a stranger can open

Fonts, Mockups, Brand, License. No working files you would not send a client. No typefaces you cannot pass on.

  2. Preview the look

Type in a sentence they can read. A device scene. A lockup. Enough to forward to a founder. Not enough to ship a site.

  3. Price the kit and keep the link

One checkout to sell creative assets online. When you add a new scene or a missing weight, add it in place and say the URL did not change.

How this sells in 2026

A type designer sells a display face with three mockups of the same word on a tote, a slide, and a poster. A brand studio sells a "launch kit": logo pack, two social mockups, a colour PDF, no third-party fonts. An independent designer sells a seasonal mockup drop, PSD only, license in the folder, preview on a story, checkout on the link in the close-friends list.

If you cannot say who may install the font, you are not ready to sell the ZIP.

Compatibility notes belong on the unpaid view: Photoshop version, whether the mockup is a smart object, whether the font is variable. People buy these packs on a phone and open them at a desk. The page should already have answered the install question.

Questions

Good to know

No. Sell font files you designed, or that your license allows you to redistribute. A brand kit that includes a rented typeface is a lawsuit with a ZIP attached. Link to the foundry instead.
